A 65-year-old man, Harrison Wafula Wamukota, has died after being assaulted by a person known to him in Kimilili, Bungoma County.
Wafula was rushed to Kimilili Sub-County Hospital but succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
His body has been moved to the mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police have arrested the suspect, who is set to be arraigned in court. Authorities also recovered two dry pieces of wood believed to have been used as the murder weapon.
