Police are investigating the murder of a middle-aged woman whose body was discovered in her rental house in Kabete, Kiambu County.
According to authorities, Naomi Chebet was brutally murdered inside her apartment, with her husband being the prime suspect. The suspect remains on the run following the incident, which occurred on Saturday night.
Chebet’s body was found with multiple injuries, including stab wounds and blunt force trauma, as confirmed by a post-mortem report.
The mother of three was last seen alive entering her apartment with the suspect on Saturday night, just hours before her body was discovered. Reports indicate that the couple had recently reunited after months of separation, a reconciliation facilitated by Chebet’s brother around 9 p.m. that evening.
An hour later, at approximately 10:30 p.m., the suspect was seen leaving the house.
Police revealed that the suspect allegedly confessed to the crime through a cryptic message posted on Facebook.
Authorities last traced him to Githurai 45 on Monday, but no arrest has been made yet as the search continues.
