Gachagua Claims Ruto Is Orchestrating Political Isolation of Deputy President Kindiki

Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua has alleged that President William Ruto is orchestrating a coordinated campaign to politically isolate Deputy President Kithure Kindiki by encouraging leaders within the Kenya Kwanza administration to publicly criticise him.

Speaking during a media roundtable on Sunday, Gachagua claimed that Kindiki is facing growing political pressure but has chosen to endure it because of his position in government.

“Our son from Tharaka is suffering, I know what he is going through because I went through the same. Being that I was elected, I was tough headed, no one could insult me. Even Junet’s statements, it is Ruto who told them,” he claimed.

“Ruto is the one making him suffer, Ruto has told them until Kindiki gets angry and resigns,” Gachagua added.

The former Deputy President argued that the alleged strategy mirrors what he says he experienced while serving as Deputy President before his fallout with President Ruto.

According to Gachagua, senior government leaders were allegedly instructed to publicly criticise him in an effort to weaken his political standing and force him out of office.

He recalled an event in Kisumu attended by President Ruto, where he claimed leaders allied to the Head of State openly attacked him under the President’s direction.

Gachagua maintained that Deputy President Kindiki is now being subjected to the same political treatment, alleging that the criticism directed at him is part of a calculated effort to provoke him into resigning.

The remarks add to the growing political tensions within Kenya’s political landscape as rival camps continue trading accusations over leadership, loyalty and the future of the Kenya Kwanza administration.

Neither President Ruto, Deputy President Kindiki nor State House had publicly responded to Gachagua’s claims at the time of publication.
