Police have launched investigations into an incident in which former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala was allegedly assaulted and had his car vandalized during a chaotic scene at a club in Nakuru Town on Friday night.

According to police reports and eyewitnesses, Malala was attacked by unknown individuals inside the entertainment venue. His four-wheel-drive Toyota Land Cruiser was also vandalized in the fracas and has since been towed to Nakuru Central Police Station as investigations continue.

Witnesses described the former senator as visibly shaken after the ordeal. “He had just walked into the club when the deejay announced his presence. Some revelers started singing anti-government songs, which seemed to anger others. In the confusion, he was attacked and his vehicle was damaged outside,” one witness recounted.

Police say the motive behind the attack remains unclear, and no arrests have been made so far. Authorities confirmed they are pursuing leads and plan to interrogate the management of the club to gather more information on the incident.

Malala, who currently serves as the Secretary-General of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), has yet to comment publicly on the matter.
