A 50-year-old woman from Busia County has left residents stunned after claiming that she is Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.

Judith Nafula made the extraordinary declaration, adding that her husband is Joseph — the biblical figure known as the earthly father of Jesus.

Speaking to local reporters, Nafula recounted a story from her birth that she says proves her divine identity.

“Mama aliniambia kuzaliwa kwangu nilikua mzungu, nywele tu ndio ilikua black. Madaktari wakashangaa Mwafrika kuzaa Mzungu,” she alleged, suggesting that her unusual appearance at birth was a sign of her divine role.

Her claims have drawn mixed reactions from the local community, with some expressing curiosity and others questioning the validity of her statements.

Authorities and religious leaders in the area have yet to issue an official response to Nafula’s assertions.
