A woman in Kasarani Clay City area has denied claims that she stormed her parents’ bedroom and assaulted her 52-year-old father during a heated family confrontation in Nairobi’s Kasarani sub-county.

Esther Wangare Ndwiga appeared before the Makadara Law Courts on charges of assault and malicious damage to property following the alleged incident, which occurred on the night of June 19, 2025.

According to court documents, the complainant, E.N.K., had been in his bedroom reading while his wife and children were in the living room. At around 10:00 pm, his wife went to join him in the bedroom for what was meant to be a private conversation.

The man reportedly questioned his wife about secret visits to one of their daughters and warned her against early morning calls to unknown individuals. It’s during this conversation that Wangare, allegedly eavesdropping outside, stormed in with a chapati rolling stick.

She is said to have threatened her father, telling him to stop harassing her mother. When he challenged her to act on her words, Wangare allegedly attacked him, hitting him on the head and arms. Her mother is also said to have joined in by grabbing the man’s waist.

As the situation escalated, the father allegedly pulled his wife’s hair, prompting screams from both women. Their son, who was in another room, reportedly rushed to stop the fracas.

After the altercation, Wangare is accused of hurling stones at her father’s car, smashing both the front and rear windscreens, before the matter was reported to police.

She was later arrested and charged with assault and malicious damage. Wangare has since denied the charges and was released on a KSh 30,000 cash bail, pending mention of the case in July for pre-trial proceedings.
