A licensed firearm holder in Molo Town, Nakuru County, has been disarmed by police following a shooting incident that unfolded outside his bar on the night of Friday, June 27, 2025.

According to a report from Molo Police Station, the man—who runs the popular Honolulu Club—fired two warning shots into the air after clashing with a customer who had attacked him during an altercation.

The incident began when a male reveler got into an argument with the club DJ over the music being played. Witnesses say the bar owner intervened and escorted the rowdy guest out of the premises. However, once outside, the reveler allegedly picked up a timber plank from a nearby kiosk and struck the bar owner on the hand and damaged his vehicle.

In response, the businessman pulled out his Glock pistol and fired twice into the air to disperse the escalating crowd. The assailant reportedly fled the scene immediately after.

“He used the weapon to scare off the attacker, but no one was injured,” a witness told police.

Police officers later arrived, recovered the firearm, and confirmed the bar owner was a licensed gun holder. However, they disarmed him pending further investigation.

Authorities are now probing whether the firearm was used lawfully under self-defense or if the bar owner violated any conditions of his license.
