NAIROBI, KENYA, JUNE 30, 2025 – Njeri, the first wife of popular Kikuyu gospel singer Muigai wa Njoroge, has left fans puzzled after sharing a cryptic but affectionate post suggesting she may have rekindled her relationship with the singer.
Njeri, who had previously gone public with her pain following Muigai’s decision to take a second wife, stunned fans on Sunday, June 29, by posting a light-hearted update with a mysterious caption.
“My hubby and I wish you a goodnight… 🤣🤣 na sitaki maswali mingi (don’t ask too many questions) 🫣,” she wrote.
The post has since stirred speculation among followers, many wondering whether Njeri and Muigai wa Njoroge are back together, or if she was referring to a new partner altogether.

A Painful Past and Public Separation
Njeri and Muigai met in 2000, when the artist was still living humbly. Muigai has in the past credited Njeri with transforming his life, saying they met near a chang’aa den before he turned to gospel music.
Their marriage hit turbulence when Muigai married Queen Stacey as a second wife. In January 2024, Njeri emotionally recounted her heartbreak in a Kameme FM interview, revealing that Muigai left her at age 28, with three children to raise.
“I was depressed for a long time. I would drink all night to numb the pain,” Njeri said during the emotional radio interview.
Muigai currently has seven children with his two wives — Njeri and Queen Stacey.
