Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka’s party has officially rebranded from Wiper Democratic Movement to Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF), according to a Kenya Gazette notice issued by the Registrar of Political Parties.
Speaking during a tour of Ukambani on Friday last week, Musyoka explained that the name change is part of a broader strategy to give the party a refreshed, inclusive identity—especially one that resonates with the youth.
“The party now has a new face—Wiper is going national. The new name will be Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) so that our Gen Z are fully included,” Kalonzo said while addressing supporters in Emali, Makueni County.
He called on young people to seize the moment and register as members of the party, emphasizing that the new name captures the patriotic spirit shown by Gen Zs during the 2024 anti-Finance Bill protests.
