A man was brutally murdered and his body set ablaze in Wendano village, Tala, Machakos County, over allegations that he was romantically involved with a married woman.
The disturbing incident occurred on July 11 as the victim was reportedly buying vegetables from the woman alleged to be at the center of the dispute. According to the police, the woman’s husband—now the main suspect—confronted and attacked the man before killing him.
The victim sustained serious injuries to the head, hands, and legs, and his body was later doused in petrol and set on fire, investigators revealed.
“The suspect escaped the scene after the attack. A manhunt is underway,” said a senior officer from the National Police Service.
The charred remains were moved to a local mortuary for autopsy and further investigation. Police are calling on the public to share any information that may help track the suspect.
