Yala, Siaya County – July 21, 2025 : Police in Yala, Siaya County, are investigating the sudden death of a Ugandan woman who collapsed shortly after experiencing severe stomach pain. The unidentified woman died on the spot just minutes after eating dinner on Sunday evening.
Food Samples Collected for Testing
According to preliminary reports, the woman had just finished supper when she began complaining of sharp abdominal pain. Moments later, she collapsed and died before she could receive medical attention.
Police have collected food samples for toxicological analysis to determine whether food poisoning or contamination played a role in the fatal incident.
“Samples of the food she consumed are undergoing lab tests. We are treating this as a public health concern until we can confirm the cause of death,” said a source close to the investigation.
