69-Year-Old Woman Dies at Kisumu Airport

Kisumu, Kenya – August 12, 2025 – Authorities at Kisumu International Airport are investigating the sudden death of a 69-year-old female passenger who collapsed while checking in for a flight to Nairobi.

Incident at the Screening Point

The incident occurred on August 7, 2025, as the woman went through the screening point before boarding her scheduled flight to Nairobi. According to airport officials, she suddenly collapsed and required immediate medical attention.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. The cause of her death remains unclear pending further medical examination.

Airport Officials Respond

In a statement, Kisumu International Airport officials expressed their condolences to the family and confirmed that normal airport operations continued after the incident. Authorities have launched an inquiry to establish what led to the sudden collapse.
