Mob Justice Still a Threat to the Rule of Law
Despite repeated crackdowns, mob justice remains prevalent in rural Kenya, with many residents citing frustration over delayed legal processes. However, civil society groups and legal experts warn that such actions only perpetuate violence and impunity.
“This is not just about superstition; it’s about a justice system failing the vulnerable. The state must do more to protect its citizens,” said a spokesperson from the Independent Medico Legal Unit (IMLU).
