Police officers in Garissa County have arrested a female suspect found in possession of a firearm stolen during a violent robbery reported at Garissa Police Station on 5th August 2025.
According to a police statement, an intelligence-led operation spearheaded by the Deputy Regional Criminal Investigations Officer (RCIO) of the North Eastern Region targeted the Madogo area, resulting in the recovery of the stolen weapon.
How the Firearm Was Recovered
Acting on a tip-off, officers escorted the suspect to her residence in Bula Kartasi Estate, where they discovered a Glock pistol loaded with a magazine containing 17 rounds of ammunition.
“Also recovered were the complainant’s wallet, holding his national identity card and his wife’s ID card, a Kenya Police Service Certificate of Appointment, military identification card, smock jacket, police belt, and several swords among other items,” the National Police Service (NPS) stated.
Additional Items Seized
The recovered items included both police and military identification materials, weapons, and personal documents belonging to the robbery victim.
Authorities believe the seizure could be linked to a wider network of criminal activity in the North Eastern region.
Suspect to Face Charges
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue. She will be processed and arraigned in court in the coming days.
