Police in Limuru are investigating the sudden death of a local businessman who collapsed and died under mysterious circumstances, just hours after returning from Kitui, where he had reportedly sought spiritual intervention for his struggling butchery business.
Businessman Collapses After Trip to Kitui
The deceased, identified as Paul Kimani Karanja, 50, arrived home on Friday night and informed his wife about his journey. He revealed that he had traveled to Kitui to seek divine help from a church after his business had been performing poorly.
Moments later, Karanja excused himself to visit the toilet, where he tragically collapsed and died. His lifeless body was discovered hours later.
Police Launch Investigations
Authorities confirmed that police were called to the scene, and the body was transferred to the mortuary pending a postmortem examination. The exact cause of death is yet to be established.
Detectives also revealed plans to visit the Kitui church where Karanja is believed to have sought prayers, as part of their ongoing probe into the incident.
