Nairobi, Kenya, August 20, 2025 – Former Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju has officially resigned from the political outfit after serving in the position for six years.

In a resignation letter dated August 19, Tuju reflected on his political journey with the party, noting his close working relationship with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who also served as the Jubilee Party leader.

“This letter is to thank you and to pay tribute to our political association that dates back to the time when I worked with you under President Kibaki to create the PNU outfit,” Tuju wrote.

He further emphasized his unwavering loyalty during Uhuru Kenyatta’s tenure as head of state.

“What I am satisfied about is that I remained loyal to you as the President, the Party leader, and as a member of the cabinet,” Tuju added.

Following his exit, Jeremiah Kioni officially succeeded him as the party’s Secretary General.

Tuju, a seasoned politician and former Cabinet Secretary, played a critical role in Jubilee’s formation and its political strategies during Kenya’s 2013 and 2017 general elections. His departure marks the end of a significant chapter in Jubilee’s leadership history.
