Police have launched investigations after a 22-year-old woman was found murdered in her rented house in the Majengo area of Narok Town.

The victim, identified as Maureen Wairimu Ngare, was discovered lying in a pool of blood with deep cuts on her hands, back, head, and cheek.

A sword believed to have been used in the attack was recovered at the scene, alongside a mobile phone, according to police reports. The motive of the killing remains unclear.

Police moved the body to the Narok County mortuary, where a postmortem examination will be conducted as part of ongoing investigations.

The case comes amid a string of violent killings reported across the country in recent weeks, raising concerns about gender-based violence and general insecurity.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and assist investigators with any information that may lead to the arrest of those behind the attack.
