A domestic feud turned tragic after a fight over a maize plantation left one brother dead in Ringa, Homa Bay.

Police reported that John Ouko died instantly after sustaining stab wounds to the chest and back, allegedly inflicted by his elder brother during the confrontation at their Omiro homestead.

The dispute reportedly erupted after Ouko’s cows strayed into his brother’s maize crop, sparking a heated quarrel. The altercation escalated, and the suspect is said to have attacked Ouko with a kitchen knife.

Following the incident, the suspect surrendered at Ringa Police Station. Authorities confirmed he will be arraigned in court on Monday, September 22, 2025, to face murder charges.

Police moved the body to the Homa Bay County mortuary for a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
