Jeremiah Kioni Claims Rigathi Gachagua Working with Ruto

Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has sensationally claimed that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is secretly working hand-in-hand with President William Ruto despite their apparent political fallout.

Speaking on a local radio station on Sunday evening, Kioni alleged that Gachagua recently held a closed-door meeting in Narok County with about 15 leaders, including members of the clergy.

Alleged Narok Meeting

According to Kioni, Gachagua attempted to explain why the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) had denied Narok Town Ward aspirant Joshua Ole Kaputa a ticket for the upcoming by-election.

Kioni claimed that during the meeting, Gachagua told the leaders that an arrangement had already been made between himself and President Ruto. He allegedly assured Kaputa that he would be nominated at a later time as part of the broader deal.

“Gachagua told them that William Ruto has already sent emissaries to them and they had an arrangement to put their houses in order and then meet to have a discussion,” Kioni alleged.

Votes Arithmetic and Political Bargain

Kioni further claimed that Gachagua boasted of consolidating 7 million votes from Mt. Kenya, 1 million from Kalonzo Musyoka’s base, and 800,000 from Fred Matiang’i’s supporters. He reportedly promised to share political gains with the Maasai community once he had secured “half of the political cake.”

Jubilee’s Stand

Kioni was categorical that the Jubilee Party will not enter into alliances with individuals engaging in “sinister political deals.” Instead, he insisted that Jubilee is open to working with like-minded parties committed to transparent politics.

The claims, if true, would raise questions about the real state of relations between President Ruto and his former deputy, who has recently portrayed himself as a critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
