A suspected robber was stoned to death by a mob in the Kasarani area of Nairobi after a botched robbery attempt on Wednesday evening.

According to witnesses, the man was in the company of two accomplices when they allegedly attacked members of the public behind the Kasarani Stadium. Their robbery spree was cut short when locals raised an alarm.

One Suspect Killed, Accomplices Escape

Residents quickly mobilized and managed to catch one of the suspects, who was beaten and stoned to death on the spot. His two accomplices escaped the scene and remain at large.

Police officers later arrived and found a dagger next to the body, believed to have been used during the attempted robberies.

Body Taken to Mortuary

The body was moved to a city mortuary, where it awaits identification and a postmortem examination. Authorities have launched investigations into the incident.

Police also cautioned residents against taking the law into their own hands, urging them to hand over suspects to law enforcement agencies for proper legal action.
