Police in Narok County have arrested one suspect linked to a shocking incident where a young pregnant woman was violently assaulted by four men armed with sticks in Enkareta.

The disturbing footage of the assault went viral online, sparking nationwide outrage. According to police, the woman, identified as Lepeita, was attacked by her brothers for allegedly defying her family’s choice of husband.

Victim Hospitalized After Attack

Lepeita sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Narok Referral Hospital. Police confirmed they are still pursuing the remaining suspects involved in the brutal incident.

In the viral video, Lepeita is seen enduring repeated beatings while her mother begs the men to stop, but her pleas are ignored.

Forced Marriage Allegations

Investigations reveal that the assault stemmed from a family dispute after Lepeita chose to marry a man her brothers disapproved of. Instead, they allegedly tried to force her into a marriage with another man from a family of their choosing.

Police Response

Narok County police have vowed to ensure justice is served. “One suspect is already in custody, and we are actively pursuing the rest. No one will be spared for taking part in such a heinous act,” a police spokesperson said.
