Two families in the upmarket Varsityville estate along the Nairobi Eastern Bypass are embroiled in a heated dispute over the paternity and ownership of four Japanese Maltese puppies.
The standoff began after the owner of a male dog demanded half of the litter, claiming his pet fathered the puppies. However, the female dog’s owner, a medical doctor, has strongly refuted the claim, insisting a stray dog was responsible.
Puppy Paternity Row
“Let him provide evidence that his bully dog fathered these four beautiful Japanese Maltese. My friend will get nothing here,” the doctor told reporters, dismissing the neighbor’s demands.
The doctor further revealed that an arbiter has been invited to mediate the disagreement. He added that if his neighbor still wants a share of the pets, it will come at a price.

“Alternatively, our good neighbor may have half of these beautiful pets at a cost of Sh50,000. For the work I have done in taking care of their medicals and homing. Nothing less,” the doctor stated.
The medic also disclosed that his children are emotionally attached to the puppies and reluctant to part with them. He has given his neighbor 14 days to either pay up or withdraw any claims.
