Police in Nairobi have launched investigations into the gruesome murder of a 35-year-old woman whose body was discovered inside a guest house in Fuata Nyayo, South B, on Monday morning.
According to an incident report filed at Mariguini Police Post under OB 11/01/09/2025, the deceased, identified as Farhia Ahmed, of Somali origin, checked into Kangema Guest House on Sunday night, August 31, 2025, at around 11:00 p.m.
She was in the company of a man identified as Chelsea Mwangi, alias Mcheche. Guest house owner Joyce Wangari Wachera confirmed that Mwangi paid Ksh. 400 for Room No. 1 on the first floor, where the two spent the night.
Body Discovered the Next Morning
On the morning of Monday, September 1, at around 8:00 a.m., caretaker Rebecca Moraa became suspicious after noticing the room door was partly open.
Upon entry, she discovered Farhia’s lifeless body lying on the bed, with blood oozing from her mouth and nose. Police reports indicate that the victim had also sustained head injuries at the back of her skull, suggesting foul play.
Police Response
Officers from South B Police Station, led by the OCS, together with detectives from the DCI Makadara office, visited the scene.
The Scenes of Crime unit processed and documented the guest house before transferring the body to City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Prime Suspect on the Run
Police confirmed that Mwangi fled the scene shortly after the incident and is now considered the prime suspect in the murder. A manhunt has been launched to track him down.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on Mwangi’s whereabouts to report immediately to the nearest police station.
