Trans-Nzoia County Governor George Natembeya has donated 15 bulls and 15 bags of maize to the family of the late former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga in Bondo, Siaya County.

Speaking while presenting the donation, Natembeya described the gesture as a “humble token” of appreciation for Raila’s monumental contribution to Kenya’s democracy, justice, and unity.

Natembeya: Raila Was a Political Father to All

Governor Natembeya praised Odinga for nurturing generations of leaders and fostering a spirit of inclusivity across communities.

“As a political father, he nurtured leaders across generations and championed the bond between the Mulembe and Nyanza regions — a unity that remains the bedrock of our political and social cohesion,” Natembeya said.

He further vowed to uphold Odinga’s ideals, pledging to continue his legacy of promoting national unity, equality, and prosperity.

“As we mourn his passing, I reaffirm my commitment to carry forward his vision, working hand in hand with like-minded leaders to fulfill his dream of a united, prosperous, and just Kenya,” he added.

Tributes Continue Ahead of Raila’s Burial

Raila Odinga’s death has triggered a nationwide outpouring of grief, with leaders across Kenya and beyond continuing to pay their respects.
The burial is scheduled for Sunday in Bondo, where dignitaries, political allies, and thousands of supporters are expected to attend.

The donation by Governor Natembeya comes amid numerous gestures of solidarity from across the country, symbolizing the depth of Raila’s impact on Kenya’s political and social fabric.
