A Member of Parliament from Narok County has come under fire after being accused of assaulting a young woman who allegedly rejected his romantic advances.
According to reports circulating widely on social media, the outspoken lawmaker is said to have invited the woman to his home under the pretense of discussing a job opportunity.
However, the meeting allegedly took a dark turn when the woman declined his advances, leading to a heated confrontation that reportedly turned physical.
Public Outrage Over Alleged Assault
The allegations have sparked outrage online, with Kenyans taking to social media platforms to demand justice for the victim.
Members of a popular Facebook group associated with the MP’s constituency flooded the page with angry comments, calling for the legislator’s immediate arrest and resignation if the claims are proven true.
“This is unacceptable behaviour from a leader. We demand accountability,” one user wrote.
The MP has not publicly responded to the allegations as of the time of publication.
Police and Gender Rights Groups Weigh In
Local women’s rights activists and gender-based violence (GBV) advocates have urged authorities to take swift action, calling for a transparent investigation into the incident.
Police in Narok County have yet to confirm whether a formal complaint has been filed, but sources within the local administration say the matter has drawn the attention of county security officials.
The case has reignited debate around abuse of power and sexual misconduct among public officials in Kenya.
