Police in Nairobi are investigating the death of a 45-year-old man who succumbed to injuries following a violent altercation with his nephew in Umoja estate.

The deceased, identified as Stephen Ng’ang’a, reportedly got into a heated argument with his nephew on October 15, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.

According to police reports, the nephew had arrived home before a quarrel broke out between the two. The cause of the disagreement remains unclear.

Victim Succumbs to Injuries Two Days Later

After the fight, Ng’ang’a sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries two days later.

Police officers were called to the hospital following his death, and the body was later moved to the City Mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.

Manhunt for the Suspect Underway

Authorities have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who fled the scene after the altercation.

“We are pursuing leads to establish the suspect’s whereabouts and the cause of the dispute,” a police officer familiar with the case said.

Investigators are also interviewing family members and neighbours to piece together what led to the deadly confrontation.

Domestic Violence on the Rise

The incident adds to a growing list of domestic-related deaths reported in Nairobi in recent months. Police have urged residents to seek mediation and counselling to resolve family disputes rather than resorting to violence.
