Detectives in Nyamira County have launched investigations into the mysterious death of 20-year-old Moi University student, identified as Sherry, who was reportedly taken to Nyamira County Referral Hospital by unidentified individuals and pronounced dead on arrival.

Student’s Death Sparks Shock and Questions

According to preliminary reports, Sherry, a fourth-year student, had traveled to Kisii County without her mother’s knowledge. Her family believed she was still at school, as classes had been suspended due to the ongoing lecturers’ strike.

Police sources say the young woman was living with her boyfriend in Kiongogi township, who has since gone missing.

Night Out Turns Tragic

Initial findings suggest that a night out with friends may have turned tragic following a heated argument between Sherry and her boyfriend after he allegedly received a phone call from another woman.

Moments later, events surrounding her condition remain unclear, with witnesses reporting that unknown individuals later dropped her at Nyamira County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Her body is preserved at the Nyamira County Referral Hospital mortuary pending a postmortem examination to establish the actual cause of death.

Police Launch Manhunt for Boyfriend

Nyamira County police have confirmed that a manhunt has been launched for the missing boyfriend believed to have vital information regarding the incident.

Detectives are also working to identify the individuals who took Sherry to the hospital before disappearing.

Authorities have urged members of the public with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to come forward.
