Detectives in Nairobi are investigating the death of a 74-year-old woman who was found murdered after a domestic fight with her husband in Githurai 44, within Kasarani Sub-County.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Monica Wanja, was discovered lying in a pool of blood inside her house over the weekend, following an argument with her husband over unclear reasons.

Neighbours Alerted Police After Hearing a Commotion

Residents reported hearing a loud commotion from the couple’s home before alerting authorities. When officers arrived, they found the woman with multiple stab injuries on her right thigh, left breast, right wrist, chin, and upper arm.

Police recovered a blood-stained dagger at the scene, which was taken as evidence.

Husband Arrested for Questioning

The deceased’s husband, aged about 75 years, was arrested at the scene and is being held for interrogation and possible arraignment in connection with the killing.

The body of the elderly woman was taken to the city mortuary pending a post-mortem and further investigations.
