Fresh questions have emerged over the death of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo following new revelations by private investigators hired by his family.

According to the investigators’ findings, Jirongo was not alone in his vehicle at the time of the fatal road accident, contradicting earlier reports and official accounts. The disclosure has intensified calls for clarity as the family seeks answers about the true circumstances surrounding the crash that claimed the veteran politician’s life.

The revelations have prompted renewed public interest, with the family urging authorities to establish who else may have been in the vehicle and how the accident occurred.

Police Promise Thorough Investigation

Deputy Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli has assured Kenyans that detectives are deploying all available investigative methods to uncover the truth behind the incident.

Speaking during a second funeral service held on Monday at Jirongo’s home in Maili Saba, Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, Masengeli reiterated the government’s commitment to a transparent, comprehensive and speedy investigation.

“We are using all available resources to establish what exactly happened. We urge the public to remain patient and avoid speculation as investigations continue,” Masengeli said.

Family Seeks Closure

The Jirongo family has welcomed the government’s assurance but insists that the unanswered questions surrounding the crash must be addressed. They say the findings by private investigators raise critical concerns that require urgent clarification.

Cyrus Jirongo, a seasoned politician and businessman, was a prominent figure in Kenyan politics and business circles, making his sudden death a matter of national concern.

Calls to Avoid Speculation

Authorities have cautioned Kenyans against spreading unverified information as detectives piece together evidence from the crash scene, vehicle analysis and witness accounts.

Police say further updates will be provided once investigations are complete.
