A bus operated by Easy Coach was involved in a grisly road accident early Monday morning along the notorious Salgaa–Mau Summit stretch of the highway.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was traveling from Nairobi to Kisumu when it rammed into the rear of a truck under circumstances that are yet to be fully established.
The impact caused panic at the scene as passengers and motorists rushed to help, with emergency responders later arriving to manage the situation.
Police have not yet confirmed the number of casualties or the extent of injuries sustained in the crash, saying investigations are ongoing.
The Salgaa–Mau Summit corridor is known for frequent and often fatal accidents, especially involving heavy commercial vehicles and long-distance buses.
