Police in Nairobi are investigating a chilling incident after a human skeleton was discovered hidden inside a septic tank at a private residence in the upmarket Muthangari area.

The grim find was made by workers who had been hired to empty the septic tank. While carrying out the task, they stumbled upon skeletal remains believed to be those of a woman.

According to police, several items of clothing were recovered from the tank, including a skirt, bra, innerwear, a white blouse, and a petticoat. Investigators suspect the woman may have been killed elsewhere before her body was dumped in the septic tank.

The identity of the deceased and the motive behind the suspected killing remain unknown.

Police officers were alerted and visited the scene, where the remains were retrieved and taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further forensic examinations.

Authorities have urged members of the public with missing female relatives to report to the nearest police station to assist with identification and investigations.

The homeowner was questioned as part of ongoing inquiries as detectives work to establish how long the body may have been concealed and who may be responsible.
