Shock and grief have gripped Nyahururu Town after a tout was stabbed to death during a violent altercation with a colleague at a busy bus stop.
Police say the incident occurred on Friday evening after the two touts reportedly disagreed over money. The argument quickly escalated, ending in a fatal stabbing.
According to officers, the deceased was stabbed on the left side of the neck, just above the ear, causing critical injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack and remains at large. Police have launched a manhunt and say investigations are ongoing to trace and arrest the assailant.
The victim’s body was moved to the mortuary, where it is being preserved pending an autopsy and other procedural requirements.
Authorities have urged members of the public to remain calm and to report any information that could help in the arrest of the suspect.
