Tanzanian gospel singer Rose Muhando has publicly denied claims that she is married to Kenyan preacher Robert Lumbasi, dismissing the reports as false and misleading.
In videos circulating on social media, the “Nibebe” hitmaker firmly stated that she has never been married and is not seeking a romantic relationship. Muhando questioned the authenticity of the alleged marriage, asking which church officiated it and challenging the preacher to clarify his claims.
“I have never been married. Let the public understand clearly that I have never been married and I am not looking for marriage,” Muhando said in part. She added that marriage would ordinarily involve a church ceremony, which she insists has never happened in her case.
Her remarks come after Robert Lumbasi recently claimed that he had secretly married the Tanzanian gospel star in a private ceremony. The preacher alleged that he paid dowry in Tanzania in 2023 and said they were preparing to grow their ministry together.
Lumbasi had also warned other men to stop pursuing Muhando, claiming she was already a married woman.
Muhando’s firm denial has cast doubt on the preacher’s assertions, with the singer maintaining that she remains single and focused on her ministry.
