Popular TikToker and fruit-farming influencer Catherine Wambugu, widely known as Wambugu Apples, has been involved in a grisly road accident along the Nyeri–Nyahururu road.

The crash claimed the lives of two occupants of her vehicle — her driver and a close associate — who died on the spot. Ms. Wambugu survived the accident but sustained tissue injuries and is receiving medical attention.

According to eyewitness accounts, the vehicle was overtaking another at high speed when it collided head-on with an oncoming truck. The impact was fatal for the two victims and caused extensive damage to the car.

Police have launched investigations to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the accident as traffic officers urged motorists to exercise caution, especially on busy highways.

The incident has sparked an outpouring of concern and condolences from fans and fellow content creators, with many wishing Ms. Wambugu a quick recovery while mourning the lives lost in the tragic crash.
