Detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 60-year-old man following a domestic dispute over the cutting of a tree in Luanda, Vihiga County.

Police said the body of Jackton Khakili was discovered in his compound with deep cuts to the head and neck.

Suspect Arrested

According to investigators, officers who visited the scene recovered the suspected murder weapon — a panga — which had been hidden under a mattress inside the house.

The suspect, identified as the deceased’s son, was arrested and is being held pending interrogation and further legal procedures. Authorities said the body was moved to the mortuary for postmortem examination.

Argument Turned Deadly

Preliminary findings indicate that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over plans to cut trees within the homestead. The dispute reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation, culminating in the fatal attack.

Police have launched investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
