Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, who died in a helicopter crash in Mosop Constituency, will be buried on Friday, March 6, his family has announced.
The burial programme was agreed upon following consultations between political leaders and grieving relatives after the crash that occurred on February 28 in Chepkiep.
Requiem Mass in Nairobi
According to the schedule, a requiem mass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at the Nairobi Baptist Church, allowing leaders, friends and constituents to pay their last respects in the capital.
Night Vigil in Line With Kipsigis Traditions
A night vigil will take place on Thursday, March 5, in accordance with Kipsigis cultural rites observed for the late legislator and others who perished in the crash.
Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, who is also Ng’eno’s father-in-law, confirmed that the bodies of Ng’eno and Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono will spend the night at his home, noting that they were married under Kipsigis customary rites.
He further stated that the remaining four bodies will also be brought to Ng’eno’s home in line with family wishes and Kipsigis customs, as they were unmarried at the time of their deaths.
The arrangements mark the beginning of final rites for the late MP and the other victims of the tragic crash.
