A female student at Chuka University who was reported to have stabbed her boyfriend to death at least three days ago has died by suicide.
The student, identified as Claire, a second-year learner at the institution, reportedly left behind handwritten notes explaining the circumstances surrounding the fatal incident.
Claims of Self-Defence
In the notes, Claire claimed she fatally stabbed Kelvin, a second-year engineering student at the same university, by mistake.
She alleged that she was attempting to defend herself after a violent argument broke out between them on the evening of the incident.
Police reports indicate that Kelvin’s body had more than five deep stab wounds. Investigators also recovered two knives believed to have been used in the attack at the scene.
Disappearance and Discovery
After the incident, the suspect reportedly fled and had been missing for two days. Authorities later discovered her body, confirming she had died by suicide.
Police have launched investigations into both deaths as the university community grapples with shock and grief over the tragic turn of events.
