Mbogi Genje have responded to diss tracks from Toxic Lyrikali and Buruklyn Boyz with a new release titled Demon.
The popular trio — comprising Smady Tingz, Militan Govana and Guzzman — insist they are the true “Kings of Dancehall” in Kenya, dismissing claims by Toxic Lyrikali and Buruklyn Boyz, who are currently battling for dominance in the genre.
“Those Are Romantic Songs”
In a recent online engagement with streets talent scout Kasa Boss, Mbogi Genje taunted the rival diss tracks, branding them “romantic songs” rather than hardcore records.
The group maintained that neither Toxic nor Buruklyn Boyz can match their lyrical grit and street credibility.
Smady Tingz: “One Man Is Enough”
Smady Tingz boldly declared he is capable of lyrically dismantling both camps single-handedly before even calling in the rest of Mbogi Genje.
Militan Govana and Guzzman echoed his sentiments, arguing that their rivals lack the hardcore punch and lyricism required to dominate the dancehall scene.
In part, they stated:
“Hapo hakuna hardcore nimeskia… one man kwanza niwabugda kabla mbogi imuok… MG ndio wagenje… hao wenyewe wanajua hardcore inamaanisha nini… na watajua mashetani ni akina nani, sisi ni mademon joh.”
Dancehall Crown at Stake
The latest release escalates an already heated rivalry in Kenya’s urban music scene, with fans now debating which camp truly holds the dancehall crown.
With “Demon” now out, the lyrical war appears far from over.
