Police in Mombasa County have seized 170 kilograms of bhang following a targeted anti-narcotics operation in Likoni.

The operation was conducted by detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) in collaboration with officers from Shelly Beach Police Station.

Intelligence-Led Raid in Tonge Nyama

Acting on intelligence reports, officers carried out a raid in the Tonge Nyama area, targeting a one-room rental house suspected to be used for drug trafficking.

During the search, police recovered large quantities of bhang hidden inside two sacks and two carrier bags, confirming suspicions of an active illegal drug operation.

Suspect Arrested

The suspect, identified as Victor Ochanda Okuku, aged 34, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

He is currently undergoing processing and is expected to be arraigned in court.

Ongoing War on Drugs

Authorities confirmed that the seized narcotics have been secured as exhibits as investigations continue.

The bust highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to crack down on drug trafficking networks along the Coast region, particularly in known hotspots such as Likoni.
