Detectives have launched investigations into a suspected murder after the body of an elderly woman was discovered inside her kitchen in Magombo.

Police identified the deceased as Hellen Ombego.

According to investigators, the discovery was made on the evening of Tuesday, May 5, after the woman was found lying on the kitchen floor long after her death.

Police said the body had visible bruises on the neck and knee, raising suspicion of foul play.

Authorities have not yet established the motive behind the killing, and no arrests had been reported by the time investigations commenced.

The body was moved to a mortuary for a postmortem examination as detectives continue with inquiries into the incident.

The case adds to a growing number of homicide investigations reported across different parts of the country in recent weeks.
