Police in Meru County have launched investigations into a suspected murder incident in which a man allegedly killed his wife before escaping.

The incident was reported on May 2, 2026, in Kithiru Village, Anjuki Location, Anjilo Sublocation within Tigania Central Subcounty.

According to police reports, the suspect is alleged to have attacked and killed his wife, Fridah Kirito, who was aged about 30 years.

Officers who responded to the scene found her lifeless body lying on a bed in a pool of blood inside the house.

Police said the deceased had sustained multiple stab wounds to the head, below the left eye and on the right arm above the elbow.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fatal attack may have been triggered by a domestic dispute.

Detectives processed and documented the scene before transferring the body to Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.

Authorities said no murder weapon was recovered from the scene, while the suspect remains at large.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect as investigations into the killing continue.
