Police are continuing investigations into the murder of Alice Rianga, the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology student whose body was recovered in a forested area in Bondo.

As the case continues to attract national attention, videos and photos linked to Alice have surfaced online, including one showing her in a nightclub allegedly flaunting large amounts of cash.

The circulating clips have sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many users speculating about her lifestyle and personal life.

Authorities, however, have not linked the videos or her social media activity to the circumstances surrounding her death, and investigations into the murder remain ongoing.

Earlier reports indicated that Alice, a second-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Education Science degree, had gone missing before her body was discovered near the Barkowino area in Bondo Township.

Police later arrested a Tanzanian gold dealer, Maximillian John Madeni, in connection with the case after investigators reportedly linked him to the deceased.

Detectives said preliminary findings suggested the crime scene showed no signs of a struggle, raising suspicions that the student may have been killed elsewhere before her body was dumped in the area.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending a postmortem examination as investigators continue gathering evidence.

The case has triggered outrage among students and members of the public, with calls for swift investigations and justice for the slain student.
