A court case has revealed details of a bizarre burglary at the home of Member of Parliament Ronald Karauri, where a man allegedly broke in and stole a laptop, food items, and an energy drink valued at over KSh 100,000.
According to court documents, the incident occurred on the night of January 18, 2026, at around 1:00 a.m., when the accused, identified as Kamau, allegedly forced his way into the Westlands residence.
Once inside the home, he is said to have stolen a MacBook Air M2 valued at approximately KSh 100,000, a can of Heinz beans worth KSh 250, and a Maison Perrier energy drink also valued at KSh 250, bringing the total value of the items to about KSh 100,500.
The documents further state that during the incident, the suspect allegedly confronted a security guard attached to the MP, prompting the guard to shoot him in the right leg as he attempted to flee or resist.
The accused later admitted to the offence in court proceedings, with the matter now proceeding through the legal system.
Authorities have not indicated any further accomplices, and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the break-in continue.
The unusual combination of stolen items has drawn public attention, with the case now adding to the growing list of high-profile burglary incidents in Nairobi’s upscale residential areas.
