Grief has engulfed Kamulu following the brutal murder of a boda boda rider whose body was discovered dumped in a farm after he reportedly picked up two passengers at night.
The deceased was identified as Douglas Michieka, a boda boda operator attached to the Athi Boda Boda Stage in Kamulu.
According to reports, Douglas left with two customers on the night of July 19. The identities of the passengers remain unknown.
He never returned home.
It is alleged that the suspects attacked him while he was ferrying them, stabbing him in the back before slitting his throat and fleeing with his newly acquired Boxer motorcycle.
His body was discovered the following morning, July 20, at Mwalim Farm in the Mitembe area.
The killing has left fellow boda boda riders and residents in shock, with many demanding swift investigations and the arrest of those responsible.
Friends and colleagues described Douglas as a hardworking rider, saying his death has devastated the local boda boda community.
Police have since launched investigations into the murder as efforts continue to trace the stolen motorcycle and identify the suspects behind the attack.
