Detectives in Kisumu have launched investigations after a man was found murdered inside his house in the Mamboleo area under circumstances that have left residents in shock.
According to preliminary reports, the assailant allegedly wrote a message on the wall after committing the crime before fleeing the scene.
The handwritten message claimed the victim was killed over an alleged affair with the attacker’s wife.
“I’m not a thief. This guy slept with my wife, and they have a child together. I have also been infected with a disease while also taking care of his child inside my house…..,” reads part of the message found on the wall.
Police have not verified the claims contained in the message and say they are treating it as one of the leads in the ongoing investigation.
Detectives are working to establish the identity of the suspect, the circumstances surrounding the killing, and whether the motive outlined in the message is factual or was intended to mislead investigators.
The deceased’s body was moved to a local mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to be conducted as part of the investigation.
Authorities have urged members of the public with any information that could assist the investigation to report it to the nearest police station as detectives continue pursuing all possible leads.
