Kenya Kwanza Leaders Allege State House Leak After Gachagua Predicted Ruto’s National Address

Kenya Kwanza leaders have raised concerns over what they describe as a possible leak of sensitive information from State House after former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua accurately predicted key elements of President William Ruto’s recent State of the Nation Address.

Speaking during a meeting in Shinyalu, Kakamega County, on Saturday, the leaders urged President Ruto to address what they termed as the presence of alleged moles within State House, warning that any unauthorised disclosure of confidential government information could pose a threat to national security.

The leaders, led by Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula and several Members of Parliament, also praised President Ruto’s address, describing it as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to good governance and long-term national development.

Their remarks came after Gachagua, who leads the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), addressed members of the clergy at his Nyeri residence just hours before the President’s speech.

During the meeting, Gachagua claimed President Ruto’s address would focus heavily on a new Vision 2060 development agenda while offering few answers on pressing national issues. He further alleged that the President intended to appoint former President Uhuru Kenyatta to spearhead the proposed initiative.

Gachagua argued that instead of unveiling another long-term development strategy, the Head of State should first account for his administration’s performance over the past year.

Later that evening, President Ruto announced the start of the process to develop Kenya’s next long-term development blueprint to succeed Vision 2030.

The President revealed that the government will officially launch a nationwide public participation exercise dubbed the National Conversation on Kenya’s Future Beyond Vision 2030 on August 12, 2026.

Ruto described the exercise as one of the most significant public engagement initiatives since the promulgation of the 2010 Constitution, saying it will allow Kenyans to shape the country’s long-term development agenda.
