Dan Totto, the son of former Migori Governor Okoth Obado, has confirmed that he was involved in a road accident while travelling from Nairobi to his rural home on Saturday, August 1.
Totto disclosed the incident through a public statement, assuring family, friends and supporters that he had survived the crash despite the severity of the collision.
According to him, four people were involved in the accident across the two vehicles that collided. He did not immediately disclose the extent of the injuries sustained by those involved.
Photos circulating on social media showed the SUV he was travelling in extensively damaged, highlighting the force of the impact.
The accident occurred as Totto was heading to the village, although the exact location and circumstances leading to the crash have not been made public.
The incident comes at a time when the Obado family has been in the public spotlight following the conviction of former Migori Governor Okoth Obado in the 2018 murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Authorities are expected to establish the cause of the accident as investigations continue.
