A section of parents at Precious Blood Riruta has raised concerns over a KSh30,000 remedial fee they claim has been imposed on students in addition to the regular school fees.
The parents say the charge, reportedly described as an “Academic Support Classes” fee, has not been adequately explained by the school, leaving them questioning what the money is intended to cover.
One parent claims the school has also directed that the money be paid through a class representative rather than through the institution’s official fee payment channels or bursar’s office.
The parents have further alleged that students who have not paid the KSh30,000 fee have been flagged and may be barred from attending some morning and evening revision sessions.
The development has sparked concerns over whether students are being unfairly disadvantaged for failing to pay the additional amount, with affected parents calling for intervention from relevant education authorities.
The parents say they are seeking clarity on the purpose of the fee, the payment procedure and whether students can legally be excluded from academic revision sessions over the disputed charge.
They have also raised concerns about possible victimisation of students who have not paid, urging the school to address the matter transparently and prioritise the welfare and education of all learners.
