Kenya Power has warned customers against engaging with content posted on its customer care account on X after the platform was reportedly hacked.

The account, @KenyaPower_Care, was taken over by suspected cryptocurrency traders who began posting and promoting crypto trading-related content.

Kenya Power Issues Customer Alert

In a customer alert issued on Saturday, October 3, 2026, Kenya Power urged members of the public to ignore any posts, messages or instructions coming from the compromised account until further notice.

The power utility cautioned customers against responding to requests or following instructions issued through the account, as they may not originate from the company.

Kenya Power said its account recovery process was already underway as it worked to regain control of the platform.

Customers have been advised to rely on Kenya Power’s verified communication channels for official updates and services as efforts to restore the account continue.
