Police arrest the main suspect behind Dr Gerishon Mwiti’s murder

Police have arrested the main suspect behind the gruesome murder of Leadership Institute of Kenya (LIKA) Gershon Kimeu Mwiti.

Dr Mwiti’s body was discovered in his garden at Thigiri Ridge in Westlands on Saturday, January 14 moments after he disagreed with his gardener over pay.

The suspect Bernard Kioko, who went missing after the murder has been arrested moments at Mabatini in Mathare settlement

“This is after an operation that lasted more than 24 hours, after the suspect engaged detectives in a hide and seek game from Mwingi in Kitui county until his arrest this afternoon deep in the Mathare settlement,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has said.

“The operation was conducted by a contingent of officers drawn from the Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau based at Nairobi regional command, DCI Gigiri and officers from Huruma police station,” said the DCI.

Detectives are currently interrogating the suspect for more details into the unfortunate murder.
